Where in Bangkok would you bring or recommend a shopaholic? What makes this place interesting?

A vacation in Bangkok, Thailand is never complete without checking out the shopping scene in the city. Whether it's the boutiques inside the modern malls or the hustle and bustle of its famous street markets, Bangkok has all kinds of shopping places that will excite and thrill the savvy shopper. If you have a friend who asks for tips and advice on where to go in Bangkok for the best shopping experience, what will you recommend and why?

4. For shopping malls, go and check the area around Siam square, plenty of malls there such as MBK and Siam Paragon and Central world is almost completely open again. For markets try the Chatuchak market in the weekend, or the night bazaar at Lumpini in the evenings.
5. Last time I booked a room through Asia Rooms I got cheated - - never used them again. In all fairness it was likely the hotel that did the cheating but it leaves you with a bad taste.
6. How sad Asia Rooms must be in bad shape - must be the lack of service ! Fa M is spot on with Siam Square and Night Market - also check out sawadee.com for all information on what to see and do - Bangkok is not all about shopping !
7. The best shopping centre is MBK. You can shop for whole day for grand floor to 5th floor. The price is cheap and it is for middle class shopper.

9. I'd say Khao san Road...it's a backpacker's heaven! there are big shopping malls and I cant remember their names but theyre only a bus- or a tuktuk-ride away

The bustling streets around Bangkok Yaowarat area is a haven for shopping all sorts of cheap goods Items ranging from garments,footwares,home utensils,electrical items,hardwares,food products,agricultural needs and lots more,you name it they have it. Not forgetting also are the street vendors selling used items,cds,amulets and the flea like market. It's a very well organised area with Chinatown being the main centre of activities.Tug away in one corner is the Indian Street with many gemstone shops. This is the place where one can really see the real life of Bangkok people doing their daily routine work. .
11. i would recommend Chatuchat (not sure of the spelling) for its variety of stuff that one can buy there. From clothes to artwork to toys for children to pets to food to household items to decorative items . I would also recommend Platinum to girls who love to look for bargains and are willing to take the risk. as trying of clothes is not allowed and discounts are only given if one buys 3 pieces and above.
12. Personally, I don't like Bangkok, which I found, can be a huge rip-off. It was the only town in Thailand where we found we couldn't believe a word any taxi-driver, tour person or shop assistant told us. We always landed and flew diriectly up to Chiag Mai. Beautful place. Beautuful people. Been there 4 times. However, if you are stuck on Bangkok, here's the shopping list. The market of all markets, Chatuchak Weekend Market is the ultimate. You will be amazed by its sprawling size, but perhaps even more so by the unbelievable variety of wares. Stumble across anything from vinyl records, beads, suits of armor to a live seahorse! Haggling is allowed; in fact, it is encouraged. Just do so politely. Possibly the most exhilarating, chaotic and lively shopping experience that can be had anywhere in the world. In a city blessed with some of the world’s most sumptuous malls, how do you choose? Do you want bargains galore? Go to MBK. After the biggest and most trendy? CentralWorld is your ticket.
