Details:

  1. This is really going to the bottom of the barrel asking question for Asian Rooms.com here. You should be paying people to give you this information. However when I need a hotel room I always use Sawadee.com or Agoda.com for good service
  2. I would recommend that you start with a simple Google check! Just enter "shopping in Bangkok" or "where to shop in Bangkok" or "best shopping in Bangkok" and you will get lots of info! http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&biw=1296&bih=790&q=shopping+in+bangkok&aq=0&aqi=g10&aql=f&oq=shopping+in+Bangkok&gs_rfai= http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&biw=1296&bih=790&q=where+to+shop+in+bangkok&btnG=Search&aq=f&aqi=g1g-v1&aql=t&oq=&gs_rfai= http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&biw=1296&bih=790&q=best+shoppin+in+bangkok&btnG=Search&aq=f&aqi=g-sx1&aql=f&oq=&gs_rfai= Merry Christmas.
  3. If you run a website offering rooms in Asia, then you shouldn't need to ask this question.
  4. For shopping malls, go and check the area around Siam square, plenty of malls there such as MBK and Siam Paragon and Central world is almost completely open again. For markets try the Chatuchak market in the weekend, or the night bazaar at Lumpini in the evenings.
  5. Last time I booked a room through Asia Rooms I got cheated - - never used them again. In all fairness it was likely the hotel that did the cheating but it leaves you with a bad taste.
  6. How sad Asia Rooms must be in bad shape - must be the lack of service ! Fa M is spot on with Siam Square and Night Market - also check out sawadee.com for all information on what to see and do - Bangkok is not all about shopping !
  7. The best shopping centre is MBK. You can shop for whole day for grand floor to 5th floor. The price is cheap and it is for middle class shopper.
  8. MBK Emporium Future Park and Seacon Square thats where I go and of course Central World
  9. I'd say Khao san Road...it's a backpacker's heaven! there are big shopping malls and I cant remember their names but theyre only a bus- or a tuktuk-ride away
  10. The bustling streets around Bangkok Yaowarat area is a haven for shopping all sorts of cheap goods Items ranging from garments, footwares, home utensils, electrical items, hardwares, food products, agricultural needs and lots more, you name it they have it. Not forgetting also are the street vendors selling used items, cds, amulets and the flea like market. It's a very well organised area with Chinatown being the main centre of activities.Tug away in one corner is the Indian Street with many gemstone shops. This is the place where one can really see the real life of Bangkok people doing their daily routine work. .
  11. i would recommend Chatuchat (not sure of the spelling) for its variety of stuff that one can buy there. From clothes to artwork to toys for children to pets to food to household items to decorative items . I would also recommend Platinum to girls who love to look for bargains and are willing to take the risk. as trying of clothes is not allowed and discounts are only given if one buys 3 pieces and above.
  12. Personally, I don't like Bangkok, which I found, can be a huge rip-off. It was the only town in Thailand where we found we couldn't believe a word any taxi-driver, tour person or shop assistant told us. We always landed and flew diriectly up to Chiag Mai. Beautful place. Beautuful people. Been there 4 times. However, if you are stuck on Bangkok, here's the shopping list. The market of all markets, Chatuchak Weekend Market is the ultimate. You will be amazed by its sprawling size, but perhaps even more so by the unbelievable variety of wares. Stumble across anything from vinyl records, beads, suits of armor to a live seahorse! Haggling is allowed; in fact, it is encouraged. Just do so politely. Possibly the most exhilarating, chaotic and lively shopping experience that can be had anywhere in the world. In a city blessed with some of the world’s most sumptuous malls, how do you choose? Do you want bargains galore? Go to MBK. After the biggest and most trendy? CentralWorld is your ticket. How about classy? Make your way to The Emporium. Of course, if glamour makes you go wobbly at the knees, you will already have found Siam Paragon – the epitome of high-class Bangkok. And Patpong Market’s tarpaulin covered stalls – each brimming with counterfeits or exotica - don’t even kick into life until the area’s office workers are tucked up in bed. Just two examples, among several, of Bangkok’s love affair with the after-dark shop. Read more... 4Pantip Plaza - Computer Shopping Mall An aspiring techno-geek? Then Pantip Plaza is your heaven on earth. Looking for a new mobile, notebook or the latest gadget? That’s right, Pantip. Packed from floor to ceiling with stalls and shops selling all kinds of computer and electronic paraphernalia, make sure to allow enough time to explore this bustling, indoor IT mall. Flirting with the idea of ‘the dark side’ – ghosts, spirits and the unexplained – it fuses a haunted-house theme with trend-setting lifestyle shopping to create a thrilling shopping experience. The three zones, namely Neglected Garden, Playground and Dark Mansion, entice you with an eclectic and heady mix of dining, shopping, partying, drinking and ‘haunting’ encounters. 6Doi Tung Handicrafts This well-established brand is better known for its coffee than its fascinating lineup of handmade crafts – actually the cornerstone of the brand. Instead of pure function, Doi Tung crafts sport contemporary designs that feel resolutely Thai yet blend in with western-style homes, whether home accessories, hand-woven carpets, ceramics, mulberry paper stationery, or apparel. Most major shopping malls, such as Siam Paragon, The Emporium and Siam Discovery Center, carry Doi Tung products . 7Department Stores Imagine a place full of quality items, both imported and domestic; a place where shop-hopping is obsolete, and every ilk – fashionista, bargain hunter, or house-wife – is catered for. Nice isn’t it? Well in Bangkok they are called department stores. Open-plan, and spread over many gleaming floors, these retail realms offer the opposite of street commerce – they’re calm and whisper quiet. They’re also not shy about price slashing. Walking through the many little streets you might find yourself in a market, a shophouse-lined backstreet or a crowded space jam-packed with hawkers of every ilk. Along with many gold shops, you’ll also find sacks of roasted chestnuts, sequins, feather boas, eccentric virility boosters and martial art weapons. 9Flower & Fresh Produce Market Among the many fresh produce markets in Bangkok, the jewel without a doubt is the Pak Khlong Talad Flower Market. The colours, fragrances of jasmine and the sight of garland weavers busily at work makes for a dazzling sensory experience. Prepare yourself for a really late-night experience, but one worth staying up for. 10Antiques & Collectibles There is a huge market for reproductions in Bangkok, which can be a collector’s nightmare. If the real thing is what you’re after, you will be interested in OP Place, next to the Oriental Hotel. A historical landmark in its own right, the contents are simply to die for. Close by is the Rivercity complex, equally well-known for prized collectibles. Read more...
